In the midst of this community, she meets one of the last remaining binukots, 73-year-old Lola (grandmother). This old woman lives in an old hut, just like everybody else in the community.However, she has stayed inside a way in the house ever since she was five years old, living in isolation as the family chosen binukot. Since be ing chosen the binukot of her tribe, the old woman has pinched a veil so that no one can see her face. She is lifted onto a hammock every day so her feet never particle the ground. She is bathed, combed and served only the best food like an ancient princess. Her work is to learn the traditional dances and memorize the tribes hours-long epics.
